Forgotten post office

The connectome

Lesson from Chitkara sir, which really stuck on me beyond school study.

If you really want to understand something, push that thing to the limits, take it to the far ends. (I might have rephrased)

I apply this more to philosophy and systems than to solving maths problems today.

But really, thinking further and adding inputs from another teacher Marty Anderson on the topic of EEM - Extended Enterprise Management. (This is really nothing but ERP growing outside of your own organisation and into your vendor and supply chain.)

One might feel that the entire world is an EEM waiting to happen. Our work is to quietly connect everything, every organization, every group, every association (this is happening as we speak via internet) creating perfect channels that share perfect information, and thus doing the perfect thing for the greater good.

ChatGPT's take on life

Oh, in the depths of the soul's despair,

Where sorrows lay, and the heart is bare,

Morbidity lingers, ever there,

A pall that drapes in the very air.

A purposeless existence, so forlorn,

Where dreams and hopes are ripped and torn,

And loneliness doth leave us worn,

With a yearning for a love that died before being born.

The days go by, with no delight,

In endless circles, without respite,

With burdens heavy, and no end in sight,

A weight that crushes with all its might.

Nightmare life

Have you ever woken up from a dream
Thinking 'Was I the monster in there?'

To live so doubtingly, that's a true nightmare.

Stubborn Penguin

Though most birds fly, I cannot
And somehow that just seems like a lie

Of clear skies, with frozen feet
I do imagine and I cry

I'd like to soar the heights unknown
And let bygones, go by

I have webbed feet and wings 'no-meat'
It seems like fair aint Thy

If only I could reach that far high,
I would ask Thee why

I seek adventure and I'm ready
To get away from here. And why??

Cause I know what I want and
I aint got not what I need to thrive

So bound and stuck.
The seagulls make me shy

"Dive down below and you will see"
A wise one one day said passing by

Why webs are webs, and flaps are flaps
Adventure is not always far away.

The Devil brought us flowers

The world has so much life to offer
Treasures, jewels and dreams in coffer

The fallen one is the one indulgent
In the fruits of life, so abundant

Godmen preach of 'Holy' restraint
Yet loot and plunder, the blue ones taint.

Commoners fearful of Divine wrath
As God has named the seven shames; Froth!

If that were true, oh wise minister
Did the devil bring us flowers? Is that sinister?

Once gods walked..

Once gods walked among humans,
The splendid Muses and youthful Apollo
Inspired and healed us, just like you.
And you are to me as if one of the Holy Ones
Had sent me forth into life, and the image
Of my beloved goes with me,
And wherever I stay and whatever I learn,
I learned and gained it from her,
With a love that lasts until death.

Then let us live, you with whom I suffer
And inwardly strive towards better times
In faith and loyalty. For we are the ones.
And if people should remember us both
In years to come, when Spirit again prevails,
They'd say that these lonely ones lovingly
Created a secret world, known to the gods alone.
The earth will take back those concerned
With impermanent things: others climb higher
To ethereal Light who've been faithful
To the love inside themselves, and to the spirit
Of the gods. Thus they master Fate
In patience, hope and quietness.

Gravity got me down

Revolving with a slight elliptic
I'm not the one that fit in squares

Shining, a carbon dark lustre; with a vapor tail
I lash upon thee, who know not me

I waltz cross-step; and a pompous gait
Explorers envious of my orbit

Though one day in a starry veil, I came across
one wonder; Cold shivers

With raised brows, I drift in closer
In amazement and in surprise

No face, and no halo; a blinding darkness
No quantum jumps, but a gradual decline

I lost control a long time back, now I just drift in closer
My Venus trap

I just know now I had outlived my track
Unmoved I move in closer

Inching away as black turns to brown
I lost my sense and Gravity got me down

A Psalm of Life

Tell me not in mournful numbers,
"Life is but an empty dream!"
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
"Dust thou art, to dust returnest,"
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us further than to-day.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act -- act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labour and to wait.

Breathe - Pink Floyd

Lyrics from Breathe by Pink Floyd

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave, but don't leave me
Look around
Choose your own ground

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

Run, rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down
It's time to dig another one

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave

A love affair with dew drops

Like a diamond I smile
On the blades I lay

I appear before its bright
When black turns to grey

If you glide along the curves
You'll find me on the way

Your sadness;
I'll keep away

When I am around
Memorable moments you must cache

The crisp moistness in the air
I do convey

So enjoy me darling
I ain't here all day

Blind moth

Flutter all its kin around globes of light
The ever so gravitational, the globes of light

Flutter all night, until the globes no more shine
And the tired pair of wings retire to soulless sleep

The blind moth flutters, it knows not where it goes
The blind moth flutters, amongst the butterflies

The blind moth doesn't flutter around the globes of light
The blind moth doesn't flutter around the globes of light

Upstream

A pebble in the drift
in a clear and cold river

To be the rolling stone
it is not a mean feat

It smoothens your edges
It makes you round

And dumps you in the delta
Some still a stone, some dust

True treasure

They are like glass
you can see through them

Like a book without words.
Sharing silence is difficult for most

Sad or happy moments
they are there to say, "Prost!"

The dictionary constrained
there is no words like lie or cheat

With their support
the world you can beat

Greatness vs. Happiness

A friend, Kanika Gupta has written with simplicity, on a topic which bothers us all deep within. We often shut it off and let it rot in the corners of our subconscious, but to truly live requires oneself to make a conscious choice sooner or later in life. Happiness or Greatness?

Gloomy Sunday

The lyrics of the song Gloomy Sunday (originally written by Rezso Seres), have deep emotion attached to them. The song is a depiction of love and longing, so deep, it can hardly be rational to a common man.

Here are the lyrics:

Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows, I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thoughts of ever returning you
Would they be angry, if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy Sunday

Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are said I know
But let them not weep, let them know that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream for in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you
Gloomy Sunday

Dreaming, I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep in the deep of my heart here
Darling I hope, that my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you how much I wanted you
Gloomy Sunday

*** This song when first written was just the first two paragraphs. After the controversy the song had sparked, the third paragraph was later added. Read it again.

From Shell to Plate

They break open the shell
And pour me out
On a hot molten plate
On a pool and they fry

They play with me and hurt me
Ruthless! they hit me
Jab me and slash me
I just lay there and I dry

They sprinkle my wounds
With the powder of pain
It goes right within - the dark spice
A tear in my eye

I'm helpless and deprived
I need my chance to survive
'If I had the wings'
I would fly

THE MOB

Animals! they are more predictable
You! think too much before you say; you

So conscious of yourself
Genuine thoughts shared are few

The true colors of us chameleons
Are shared when we are more than two

GLORY

Meager mortals, we are born
Meager mortals, we die

Icarus! He flew high, and lost his wings
Why is it that we remember him?

Did his fall make him immortal?
Or was it his flight?
